Verona Wine Top
Verona holds the first position in Italy for wine exports, with a 13% share of the national total. The export value in 2014 exceeded 882 million euros, with a + 1.5% increase from 2013. Wine represents 9.3% of total exports from Verona. The Veronese wine production in 2014 amounted to 2.7 million hectolitres. 90% of the wine has a protected designation of origin (DOC and DOCG) or protected geographic indication (IGP). Our Province boasts fourteen DOC and five DOCG, with a share of 10% of the national total: the result of a very diverse landscape, ranging from sandy plains to high hills, from lakes to mountains. And from appetizers to desserts, from aperitifs to snacks, white, red and rosé, still or with bubbles, Verona’s wine is able to accompany any time of the day.
